What is PicaMail?

PicaMail is a free email alias service. You create aliases like netflix@you.picamail.com and emails sent there get forwarded to your real inbox. When an alias gets spammy, kill it. Your real email stays private. It's that simple.

Can someone trace my alias back to my real email?

No. PicaMail never exposes your real email address. When you reply from an alias, the recipient sees only the alias address. Email headers are scrubbed. With shared domain aliases, there's no link between the alias and your username at all.

Is PicaMail open source?

Yes. PicaMail is built on SimpleLogin, a well-established open-source email alias platform with over 6,500 GitHub stars. You can inspect every line of code, self-host it on your own server, or contribute improvements. We believe transparency is the only real guarantee of privacy.

How do I stop spam from an alias?

One click. Deactivate the alias from your dashboard. Deactivated aliases silently discard incoming mail - no bounce, just silence. You can also fully delete an alias, which actively rejects mail so the sender knows the address is dead. Important: never mark forwarded PicaMail emails as spam in your inbox - this damages our server's reputation. Instead, always deactivate or delete the alias.
